c:hear is a fortnightly, hour-long listening session that looks at new (often electronic) music, and is open to anyone who has anything to do with cambridge university. music, film, talks, interactive demos. sessions are held at the music faculty’s centre for music and science recording studio. for news of and invitations to future sessions, get on the list: email j[dot]f[dot]snape[at]gmail[dot]com and introduce yo’self.
as well as organize sessions, we solicit monthly listening lists of personally seminal works of music from international composers. it’s called The Cambridge Book Club for the Establishment of the Historical Grammars of Electronic Music.
we also set up workshops and gigs in association with other groups, most recently with Britten Sinfonia, Nico Muhly and Valgeir Sigurdsson.
